Houston Chamber Ringers Christmas Concert

The premier handbell choir rings in the Christmas Season in the Festival Concert Hall.  The Houston Chamber Ringers are a professional handbell ensemble whose goal is to entertain, educate, and perform with passion, dedication, and artistry. Many members have been ringing for twenty-plus years.

This stunning program presents classic songs of winter and night.  From the evocative "A Midnight Clear," to the classic Vivaldi "Largo" from "Winter", to the thrilling Trans-Siberian Orchestra favorite, "Wizards in Winter," the Houston Chamber Ringers will brilliantly perform the greatest hits of the Christmas season. Pushing the boundaries of artistry and athleticism, this handbell choir is on the cutting edge of their art form.

Sure to be an afternoon you will treasure this season, continue the day's festivities by joining us for the Festival Hill Open House in the Menke House Dining Hall after the concert.

Concert tickets will be held at will call on the West side of the concert hall. Doors open at 2:00 PM.

Christmas at the Depot and the Country Home Tour

Christmas cheer being at 11am and lasts until the food runs out - Railroad Stew, Conductor Chili and Passenger Potato Soup for $8 per adult, $5 kids 6-23.   The holiday fun includes a gingerbread village for the kids, holiday shopping in the market of ware by local artisans/vendors and a chance to enjoy the historic Depot.  Starting at 1pm, visitors can buy tickets for the Christmas Country Home Tour while at the Depot and head out to see the homes from 1-5pm.  Tickets are $10/person.

A mid-19th century Folk life Reenactment includes folk life demonstrations including stagecoach rides, hay rides, mini horse carriages, spinners, weavers, wood carvers, quilters, blacksmith, encampment, outdoor cooking, butter churning, period music, square dancing, storytellers, crafts for children and the Historic Houses will be decorated as they would have been in those times.  Food available for donation.
